Fibromyalgia and Pregnancy: What to Expect

Week 3: Conception Begins It’s finally happened—conception! This is the week your egg is fertilized, marking the beginning of an extraordinary journey. Once the sperm meets the egg, they form a zygote, which quickly becomes a blastocyst—a rapidly dividing cluster of cells. Over the next few days, the blastocyst travels down the fallopian tube toward the uterus. Around five days after conception, implantation begins. At this point, you likely don’t even realize you’re pregnant—unless you’ve been closely tracking your ovulation cycle. In just two more weeks, your baby will transition from a zygote to an embryo. Your journey toward motherhood has officially begun—and what a miraculous path it will be! Week 4: Implantation and Early Development This is the week when implantation typically occurs, about five days after fertilization. The blastocyst has reached the uterus and is searching for the ideal spot to implant itself. Once it settles in, the cells divide into two groups: one wi...

Smoking mother's

The word "Mother" is synonymous with love, care, and everything good in the world. However, smoking mothers can be inadvertently killing and maiming their children born and unborn.  Shocked?  It is real. Smoking mothers are potentially gifting their children with lung cancer and many other similarly devastating diseases through second hand smoke.  Pregnant women harm their unborn babies directly in the womb.  In addition to the ominous facts presented above, the following are additional unsettling considerations when smoking. Not only will it harm your health, but it will also harm the health of your unborn child: 1.  First and foremost, smoking makes it difficult to conceive. Reports show that fertility in both men and women are heavily affected by smoking.  Smoking reduces sperm motility and semen count in men, while it hinders egg movement toward the fallopian tubes in women and affects hormone production during pregnancy. In many cases smoking als...

For Common Knowledge Trust the goals are slightly different, yet heading toward the same alignment more positive births and a decrease in birth trauma for us, the mother and our children.  CKTs goals would sound like this 1) Absolutely all of us, as expectant parents, must have both labour management and coaching skills 2) These skills must work for us in absolutely all birth situations.  3) Because we all have the same body, The Pink Kit Method can help us better prepare for this one-of-a-kind exercise in giving birth.
